281. Abba is the Aramaic word for father, a word that suggests familial intimacy. See the use in Mark 14:36, in which Jesus addressed God as Abba in the garden of Gethsemane.

282. Matt 27:54. This passage does describe an earthquake, as well, likely interpreted by the Roman centurion as a sign from God.

283. I will say more about forgiveness in the next chapter, but there are clear sections in the Gospels in which Jesus teaches about forgiveness by word as there will be in the next chapter as he teaches in deed.
